French doors are a popular choice for homeowners looking to add a touch of elegance and style to their homes while also allowing for increased natural light and access to the outdoors. When it comes to choosing the material for your French doors, two of the most common options are uPVC and aluminium. Both materials have their own unique benefits and drawbacks, and the choice ultimately depends on your individual needs and preferences. Let’s take a closer look at the pros and cons of each.

uPVC French Doors

Cost-effective

When it comes to choosing the right type of French doors for your home, the cost is an important factor to consider, as it can have a significant impact on your overall budget for your home renovation project.

Energy-efficient

When it comes to home energy efficiency, one of the key factors to consider is the type of material used for your doors and windows, as they can significantly impact the amount of heat that enters or escapes from your home. That’s why uPVC is an excellent choice for French doors, as it is a good insulator that can help to reduce your energy bills by keeping your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, making it more comfortable and cost-effective for you and your family.

Low-maintenance

When it comes to maintaining the appearance and functionality of your French doors, choosing a material that is easy to clean and maintain can save you time and effort in the long run. That’s why uPVC is a great choice for French doors, as it is known for being a low-maintenance material that is easy to clean.

Aluminium French Doors

Strong and durable

When it comes to choosing a material for your French doors aluminium is a popular choice for French doors because it is known for being a strong and durable material that is highly resistant to rust, corrosion, and other types of damage that can compromise the integrity and longevity of your doors.

Sleek and stylish

French doors are not only functional, but they can also significantly enhance the overall aesthetic of your home. If you are looking to add a touch of sophistication and elegance to your living space, aluminium French doors are an excellent choice as they have a modern and sleek appearance that can complement a wide range of home styles and interior design schemes.

Wide range of colours

Aluminium French doors are available in a wide range of colours, allowing you to choose the perfect shade to match your home’s style and even your home’s existing windows.

Ultimately, the choice between uPVC and aluminium French doors comes down to your individual needs and preferences. Consider factors such as your budget, the needs in your home, and the overall style of your home when making your decision.

From the first moment when Arthur came round to advise, measure-up and quote for the job we felt we were in good hands. And his team of installers provided the best service. I always think that the best test is if something needs further attention and in this case they returned promptly to fix a small issue and nothing was too much trouble. Our new doors have transformed the back of our house and we highly recommend this company for work of the highest quality. Thank you Arthur and team!

We got our back and front doors replaced by E&A Windows and we couldn't be happier with the job they did. Erez was so helpful as took the time to come to our home to give us a quote, explaining all our options thoroughly and clearly without being pressuring in the slightest. The quality of both doors was fantastic and Adrian’s installation was fast and completed to a very high standard. He was also very helpful. We would highly recommend E&A Windows and will definitely use them again for any future double glazing needs. Thanks so much!

Very professional service! During my initial consultation, I was fortunate enough to deal with the owner of the company. He visited my property and spent a few hours talking me through design options and his recommendations. His recommendations were very insightful and ensured my build looked elegant and modern while retaining the functionality required for an active family of 4. The build process was equally professional with the construction team arriving when they said, treating my property with respect and cleaning up after they finished each day...something not often done by today's tradesmen. I've recommend this company to my parents.

I have just had new windows installed by E&A Windows and I must say I was very impressed. Arthur the owner of the company was so helpful and supportive throughout the process. I don't know much about windows so was skeptical at first, but I felt at ease very quickly. The guys who came to fit the windows (John, Christie and Peter) were absolute legends. They were extremely friendly and so so helpful, and the respect they gave me, my elderly parents and our home was exceptional. They took care of our home as if it was their own. I have never come across such professionals, not only did they do a fantastic job , but they went well beyond, seemed like nothing was impossible. They were with us only for 3 days but my parents were actually sad to see them go. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to fit new windows.
